About 6 years old and in a pot. I did move it to a more exposed position last spring so first winter here.

Should i remove the leaves?

I did bend some vines and they dont snap..

I think it’s got every chance of coming back and I’d leave it alone. Take off the grotty looking bits when it’s got its new growth, but don’t cut any off right now. My clematis looks dismal too but they like their roots cool apparently so there’s hope!

Thanks. I will leave it alone then. Roll on spring!

I have a clematis that looks very like that, sadly. It had been cut right back for some building work, but had been doing really well last summer and autumn.

It has come back several times before, so I'm hoping that it will do so again. I'm just going to leave it for now and wait and see what happens this spring.
