Felcos Servicing

For Christmas I got a new pair of Felcos because my old pair were well battered and blunt and rusty and the screws had become worn through my dodgy attempts at maintenance.

And then I found out about the £25 servicing they offer so, thinking I had nothing to lose, I sent my old pair off.

They just came back and I am amazed. Almost all the parts have been swapped out for new parts and the rest have been cleaned up. They are like (almost) new again.

I thought I'd mention it here in case anyone has an old pair that need some TLC. Well worth the money, imo.

That's good to know.

I've had mine a few years now, and my husband has just sharpened and cleaned them up for me. A spare pair for £25 sounds good value to me!

Yeah - it's a bargain.

My old pair had a hard plastic handle that turned as you use them (it was meant to). The newer ones have a softer, more rubbery texture on that handle. They even switched that out, despite there being nothing wrong with the old handle at all.

If they keep offering a service for £25, I'll never need to buy a new pair again!

Yeah they're great. Always used Felco professionals then somebody gave me some Nwakis. Sharp and decisive but ultimately tiring to use and not half as good and forgiving of misuse as Felcos. Also so precious that they have be oiled after use with camellia oil (as opposed to utter neglect, being left out in the rain and the occasional squirt of WD40). Glad you raised this - it really is an excellent company.
