January cold frame sowings

Hi,
I'm looking for ideas on what I could sow in my cold frame right now, please. I have some lettuce seeds that can be sown all year round. Is there anything else I could try? Not in UK but climate is more or less the same right now.
Thanks for your help!

Sorry that you haven't had any replies. Have you decided what to sow yet?

Maybe sweet peas and snapdragons (antirrhinum). And broad beans if wanting veg.

Hi @PritiPatelsMaker , thanks for your message. I've had a look through my seed collection and will go for various lettuces, red mizuna, parsley, purslane, radishes and spinach.
We'll see what happens with those. The cold frame belonged to the previous owner of the house, got broken and we only repaired it recently, so I'm keen to get into the habit of using it.

Hi @HelloMist , thanks for your suggestions. I saved some sweet pea seeds from last year, so will give those a try. Snapdragons sound good, too. Very cottage-garden-y and bee-friendly!

If you are happy to experiment then try just a pinch of everything. Tbh I'd say it's a bit early for a cold frame - it's the light as much as the warmth - but if you save seed for another go in the coming months you've nothing to lose.

snapdragons (antirrhinum). those and Wallflowers always remind me of my DGF's garden Wink

Cuttings are good in a cold frame... I've a few winter flowing things I've taken cuttings of and they seem to be taking 😀

Roses, camellia and a white large succulent type thing don't ask me it's name

Good point @LadyGardenersQuestionTime . I'll try my luck now - well, in a few days once I've prepared the bed, but not overdo it.

@PritiPatelsMaker silly me, I actually already have snapdragon seeds from an order I made a couple of weeks ago. They weren't on my initial list but were half price and the flowers looked so pretty so...

It's lily of the valley and foxgloves that remind me of my DGF's garden 🙂

@OnMyWayToSenility That's a good idea! I keep meaning to take cuttings, but then forget...
