What would people suggest for planting in 2 window boxes in the UK (Midlands)just now? I'd love to have some colour and foliage as they're very prominent, but I'm clueless. Thanks for any help!

Which way does your window face?

Easy things are bulbs - miniature iris, crocus, scilla, narcissus etc. Winter pansies. Ivy.

I have self seeded baby holly in my pots which adds a bit of glossy contrast.

Thank you. I'm not actually sure which way it faces. I will try to find out. Will a bit of frost matter re your suggestions?

No, bricks retain heat and so your walls will normally keep your window boxes just above freezing. If your window is north facing, 10th floor and in Inverness that might not work but generally.... 🙂
