Grew some spring onions for the first time this year, I have IBS so avoid the white bits and only have them once a week or so, I was just pulling the leaves off them. I was surprised though that they're still going now and I still seem to have nearly as many as when I started. Googled it and hadn't realised that if you leave the white bit in the ground they can grow back 4 times!

Maybe the rest of the world knew this all along and it's just me but anyone else have any garden surprises like this?

You can plant the rooy bits from shop bought spring onions as well, and get fresh growth.

I wonder if you can do the same with leeks?

Just had a look and apparently, leeks and celery will regrow too!

Yeah I always plant the chopped off white bits from bunches I buy in supermarkets! They grow so fast as well 😀
