Primrose / Primula flowering now

Some primulas / primroses in my garden are blooming beautifully.
Isn't that unusual ?
I thought they were spring flowers.
They are planted in an east facing bed and are sheltered by a laurel hedge behind them which probably limits their light.
They haven't bloomed so early before.
I'm in Dublin, east coast of Ireland.
We had lovely weather in August and not so much rain.
April and May weren't great weather wise. I can't remember if they flowered in spring of 2022.

Sometimes they do this - particularly if the weather has been mild - they get confused!

South East England. They are confused, just like your Primulas!

My Pieris is covered in buds too!

I don’t think they’re confused so much as taking advantage of a second opportunity. Lots of flowers will have a repeat flowering in autumn if they can. Primroses do it very frequently.

I found a cowslip in flower about 3 weeks ago.
