Gardening tools or arthritic hands

Does anyone have any recommendations for gardening equipment for those suffering with arthritics hands/fingers? My MIL is a gardener by trade but as she gets older her hands are showing the signs of years out in the wet and cold and have become rather arthritic. She's not ready to give up work but I wondered if I could buy her some good quality tools that are designed for those struggling with grip and pressure.

Ooh I don't know what it's called but a claw thing on the end of a long (or short) handle with a T end. Can twist it in the soil with two hands for digging. Much easier than having to grip a tool.
