What is this plant

I have just taken on a rather overgrown allotment. This plant is growing in one of the old beds. I do not think it is a weed and want to say it is some sort of chard, but not sure. Can anyone identify it please.

Horseradish has larger coarser leaves. I'd say sorrel.

Yes, I’d go with sorrel - look at those leaf bases. Not spinach, because of the shape of the leaf bases, and central rib and stems too narrow for chard
