Novice here and suspect I have made yet another schoolboy error. I went to garden centre and saw these plants, I asked the man what it was and he told me, said it was evergreen and would remain compact. But I can't for the life of me remember what he said it was. I have bought three little pots that have no label, so can anyone help? Thanks!

Gaultheria procumbens? Definitely in the Ericaceae family.

They have nice berries later if I remember correctly - but mine got demolished by rabbits - whereas other plants were ignored.

eastern Wintergreen is a US name. It’s sometimes known as Checkerberry, but gardeners mostly simply call it Gaultheria. Gaultheria procumbens to distinguish from Gaultheria mucronata which used to be Pernettya.
