Is it all over (for tomatoes?)

Hi All - this is my first year with tomatoes, & have had a great but late crop … still picking & lots of green tomatoes on the plants

When would you suggest giving up pj the plants /picking all the green ones? I am removing any new flowers/leaf growth but is there anything else I need to do?

We picked ours and brought them indoors to ripen. We put them in the windowsill in a dish and most of them went ripe.

Could still ripen if we get sunny days up to mid October. But I always thin out the leaves to maximise the chance. I also bring a few each week indoors and put on a sunny windowsill, they ripen just fine. Any green ones 'leftover' get made into chutney or sliced and fried in olive oil. Good luck!

Do you have a warm sunny place for them? We're still cropping ours but they're located both in and outside but next to the green house, so lots of warmth.

Wow, thanks all for the quick answers : I will thin out leaves a bit more tomorrow then & give it another week or 2
