Does anyone know who these little chaps are?
They’ve been nibbling on my roses - never had them before and I’ve had roses for a few years.

Probably a sawfly, maybe large rose sawfly?

I think some insect populations are having a quick boom since gthe heatwave - sort of a last chance saloon. My garden has gone crazy with blackfly.

Thank you. Yes it does look like them… I was hoping they would turn into beautiful butterflies, but never mind!
