I am hoping somebody can help me identify this climber? We purchased it earlier in the year from Lidl. I thought it was Clementis? It has grown about 10 ft in about 4 months, but it has no flowers. We unfortunately lost the identity card. Just inquisitive to know what it is? Thanks in advance.

Looks like a clematis. They flower at different times of year, so if it’s an early flowering one it might not flower till next spring.

Thanks for your reply. Guess we will have to wait until spring. Just don’t want to kill it off. Had a beautiful Passion flower last year , but unfortunately lost that!

I'd guess at clematis montana if it's grown 10 ft in 3 months!

Yep that looks like a Montana. Grows like buggery, flowers in spring.

And don't be sad about your Passion flower. They're a complete pain

I agree with clematis Montana. You can cut it back if you need to next summer AFTER it has flowered ( it will be pink or white ). If you cut it back before that you will get no flowers.

They are hard to kill but they like food and Water.

With those paleish green leaves my bet is it will be white. Lovely....clematis Montanas usually have a lovely light vanilla fragrance.Smile
