Why have my hydrangea leaves changed?

So first pic is this time last year when I bought my hydrangea, smaller but lots of lush blue blooms and dark green leaves.

This year, having replanted it in a larger planter, there's only a couple of blooms and there's masses of light green almost rubbery leaves!
What's going on? I've bought some hydrangea feed to try to get the blooms going but should I be concerned about the colour and texture of the leaves?

It's a little droopy from the heat and needs a water!

I can’t see the picture, but I’m guessing when it was newly bought it would have had a lot of fertiliser.

Is it in a sunny spot now? Hydrangeas like a bit of shade.

Position too sunny, mine are the same, the leaves actually curl away from the sun on these very sunny days we're having. Don't like to do it while they are in bloom but i'm planning to very carefully move them this weekend.

@prettyprinceofpartiez What are you watering it with - rainwater or tap? If it is tap water and you're in a hard water area then it is likely to be chlorosis caused by the alkalinity in the water. Give it some sequestered iron tonic.
