Please can anyone tell me what's eating my new rose? I thought it might be leaf cutter bees? but I haven't seen any bees at all on it. It's my first time growing a rose of any kind and I love it really don't want to lose it

Definitely leaf cutter bees! They can be active all summer (I get them burrowing in pots in the greenhouse), but they won’t have caused problems for your rose.

Vine weevil?

Thank you for responding! Phew good to know they won't harm

Definitely leaf cutters. I have exactly the same and I never see the bees either. Amazing shapes aren't they?!

@WobblyLondoner they're perfect semi circles never seen anything like that before. Ive sat out on guard duty at diff times of the day to see if I could get a glimpse of what was doing the damage .but nada

I've had them in my garden for years, and never seen one either! A friend of mine has seen them in his garden though, flying about holding bits of leaf.

Leaf cutter bees are fascinating to watch when they do this. Keep an eye out if you can
