My lovely husband is a gardener and wants a new fork for his birthday

I suspect you'll have to go together to a garden centre or diy place and try them out. I think it's all about how things feel in your hand rather than a brand.

RHS goes with Burgon and Ball. Their tools are very strokeable. I’d be happy to receive one as a present. I’d go for a border fork rather than a digging fork

What’s your budget? Buy him something from Implementations - copper based gardening tools. They are wonderful but not cheap. Get him a voucher and let him choose. Or take him to a RHS garden or show and buy for him there. (Avid gardener speaking).

DeWitt 4 prong fork. Carbon steel, so stronger than stainless; and sharper. DeWitt make some of the best tools I've ever had.
