Is star jasmine scented?

Got a small plant a few weeks ago and there are a number of white flowers on it but they have no scent.

Bought jasmine largely for scent and am wondering if I got the wrong variety?

Pretty sure it's supposed to be highly scented, mine isn't though either 🤷‍♂️

Mine wasn't until we had the heatwave (only lasted 2 days here) last week. Now it knocks you out when you walk in the garden . It is massive though.

I have a jasmine polyanthum and when in bloom it smells heavenly

Star jasmine (Trachelospermum jasminoides) is scented but not so strongly in the daytime as ordinary jasmine. Actually both of them smell much more strongly in the evening. While we are talking jasmine, avoid jasminum beesianum its touted as scented but in my experience its not or only very faint and its a total thug.

Mine is strongly scented, but for some reason this year the scent is pretty feeble.

That, if course,is, despite the common name, a completely different species in a different family

It’s lovely… especially in the evening. Pink jasmine is sweeter and headier.

Star jasmine is in the family that includes Oleander, Jasmine is in the Olive, Privet and Lilac family
