DH has mown down my french beans

Hi, yesterday DH strimmed through the bottoms of nearly all my french bean plants 😭 I phoned local garden centre to see if they’re still selling plug plants but no they’re not. Is there any point re-sowing or is it just too late now? I’m so gutted and annoyed.

They might sprout from the bottom.
I'd leave them in the ground and pray for rain.
Or dig them up and bury DH .

@Choccyp1g Thanks, the second option is quite appealing 😤

Have you a local Homebase? Ours is selling veg plug plants very cheaply, they might need some care to bring them on.

@Beebumble2 Thats a good idea, I’ll try to get over there tomorrow.

Yes, you can sow. I normally sow in succession till July

@MereDintofPandiculation I’ve sown dwarf beans late in the season before but never pole beans, I wonder if pinching them out will make them flower earlier 🤔

Might do. I’ve just sown a batch. I sprouted them on wet kitchen paper in the kitchen to get a quick start. I wasn’t planning to pinch them out.

Oh no, that's a shame. They do grow really quickly at the moment, I've been succession sowing every 2 weeks and last week's seedlings were already on their 2nd leaves when I planted them out yesterday.
