What plants good in pots on window ledge outside

I've got 6x 15cm pots for my window ledge to obscure the unfortunate vista of my dustbins!

I'm not much of a gardener so any suggestions what would go well in these that can live in a pot?

For the summer, geraniums (pelargoniums) are cheerful. You'd need something else for the winter.

It depends on the aspect of your windows. The pots are not very big and will dry out very quickly. I suggest that a trough style container would be a better option.
if you could post the aspect of the window sill others could make suggestions.
im assuming the pots are to be on the outside.

They are small pots for anything to live long term in - except maybe sedums but they won't give you much height?

However, if you're ok with the cost, you could easily just buy 6 short lived plants and pot them inside your pots for the season - changing them every 6 months for something better suited to the next seasons coming.

Then maybe letting your neighbours take the old plants for free to be rehabilitated in a garden somewhere?

Aspect will make a big difference to what you can pop in there. Sunny or shady?

Herbs are drought resistant and can survive in small pots, unless it is in shade.
