Plant ID please

You wonderful knowledgeable gardeners, I need your help. Can you ID this bush? I tried a plant id website but their answers are not remotely like the plant.

Looks like hypericum

thats interesting. I have one of those… Googling it tells me it’s basically a weed, is that right?

It's grown as a decorative shrub - but if you didn't invite it and don't like it then it's a weed! www.rhs.org.uk/plants/9021/hypericum-perforatum/details. Pretty bulletproof.

Are hypericum related to St John's Wort, the flowers are very similar. I think St John's Wort can be a weed. Iirc there are several species.

It’s not Hypericum perforatum, it’s Tutsan, Hypericum androsaenum. Plants in the genus Hypericum go by the common name St John’s Wort.
