I know they're typically very easy to care for and even ungreenfingered me has managed to take some successful cuttings, but I don't know what do do with this....

A leaf fell off one of the plants and has produced a baby plant! Do I plant the whole thing or do I need to extract it from the original leaf? I'd be very grateful for some pearls of wisdom!

I'd probably lay it on top of some gritty compost and see what happens....it's very cute

This is the original plant. I don't know its name.

I'd plant the whole thing myself. But no expert, my approach to gardening is to just go for it and see how it goes.

echeveria?

MissStarry · 14/07/2022 15:02

Just place it on top of some soil (leaves/baby facing up), and it’ll take root and grow.

I think this is how it spouted in the first place, because the leaf fell off onto the soil and I didn't notice it to remove it. It is really cute!

I've found another one! I have two babies!

Thank you for the name @CatherinedeBourgh I googled it and it says to do what most people have said here, to just lay it on top of soil and it should root itself.

Thank you so much everyone Smile

It is an Echeveria, and previous comments are right on the ball.
