What to plant in front -shallow bed

we have two shallow beds next to the front door. We planted lavender a few months ago which has done really well but didn’t get round to planting in the other bed. It’s about 20cm wide by about 60cm, with about a foot of soil. What would be good at this time of year that is quite low maintenance please? The spot gets full sun in the afternoon into the evening. Thank you!

Erigeron karvinskianus. Pretty as you like, tough as old boots, flowers relentlessly. I have it with lavender all along the front fence, to hide the ugly bottom bit, and it looks great.

It will keep flowering as late as November, and start up again in May.

I love the Erigeron that has self seeded round where we park our cars, but can't get it to take anywhere I actually want to plant it!

Shrubby Salvias (including good old Hotlines) may be very happy there. Or some of the smaller rudbeckia. Or even more Lavender

Brilliant. Thank you, I’ll take a look!
