Foxgloves - am I worrying over nothing?

I was moving a large pot of foxgloves, slipped and they all went in my face. (I had a thorough wash straight after)

I know they are highly toxic but will I be okay? I have health anxiety so looking forward to hearing from others who've done the same and survived!! Grin

You’ll be fine. You have to eat it.

I’m sure you will be fine. Have you had any help with your health anxiety? Reassurance seeking is not helpful in the long run

LynneBenfield · 08/07/2022 14:56

Sorry, should say you have to eat it rather than just get a bit on your face for toxin to have an effect.

RoseAndRose · 08/07/2022 14:58

You'll be fine. They're safe to handle, it's poisonous only if ingested

You'll be fine, when I was a kid I used to put the flowers on my fingertips, like the opposite to fingerless gloves. Still here to waste your time with this postSmile

You have to eat the leaves to suffer any ill effects.

Thanks for the reassurance everyone. I've survived the afternoon so far! Feeling calmer now.

@garlicandsapphires you're right. I do need to sort that CBT!

The only risk to them falling on or into your face would be potential bee stings! As bees love them, however since you don't mention bees, you'll be absolutely fineSmile. I used to love making foxglove hats for my fingers as a child with no Ill effects apart from the odd angry bee at getting plonked on a fingerGrin
