Woohoo! I'll be there tomorrow, can't wait. Looking forward to all the Gardening Stuff and the lovely nurseries. Today's job will be washing my irritating wheeled trolley for bringing back my haul of plants (and other random unnecessary stuff)

Got here at 10am, never been before, the place is massive!! Lovely weather. Off to explore.

Saw Joe Swift!!

Going on Friday. It's my birthday treat !

wohmum · 04/07/2022 13:56

Woohoo! I’m going Wednesday for the 3pm slot. Is 3.5 hours enough do you think?

MrsBertBibby · 04/07/2022 16:06

We've been here since 10 and still not done.

Next year we are bringing a wheelie box!.

We are carrying an attractive, a dahlia and a sanguisorba, but it would be more if we had had a box.

Also a fancy silk kimono shirt thing for ne, and a bunch of seeds.

The cheapest box trolleys I saw were over by the floral marquee just along from the Felco stand. They were £5 and looked the same size as more expensive ones. No colour choice, only black.

Treated myself to some gauntlet gloves ready for my roses. No plants this year as I'm revamping the garden next year so today was a fact finding exercise for ideas and it was so good to actually see so many things in the flesh rather than online or in brochures. Spoke to a lovely lady at the DA stand about what rose I should plant for my new rose tunnel, feel more confident about what to do now.

What a lovely day, took it at my own pace, double backed on myself so much I happily got lost and sidetracked.

I was there! great day, lovely weather and the gardens were very interesting. We got there just after 10 and left at 4.30. We liked the allotment gardens the best, but saw Adam Frost interviewing Sue Kent, her garden got a gold, great for a first time entry. I do admire her attitude of just getting on and trying things.

We treated ourselves to afternoon tea in the Rose Garden Cafe. What a disappointment! It was a 45 min slot, we were allowed in 20 mins after the given time. The tea was cold so had to send it back and wait for a fresh pot. Then we were told we had 15 mins to finish eating. The food was very scant, and not up to the standard of our local tea shop.

saw Adam Frost interviewing Sue Kent

Then you must have been within feet of me! You weren't the lady round the side, agreeing with me it felt a bit intrusive to take pics, were you?

We had a lovely time. Came home with astrantia, sanguirirba, a rose, a dahlia and a fern. And a bunch of seeds.

The train back to London was hilarious, every carriage full of bloom.

Unfortunately not, but I did hear a comment to that effect! I was trying to take a photo, but the boom bar kept getting in the way! I eventually got one of them both.
it was fun seeing everyone looking like travelling flower beds.
