Got this outdoor plant around two years ago from a local garden centre. It wasn’t that big, probably had seen better days, DH liked the look of it, it was cheapish but there was no label/name on it.

It’s deciduous. Standing around 1.5m at the moment, quite a few stems on it now, no flowers. I’ve tried googling/Pinterest the leaves but I can’t find a match. I thought it may be a Philodendron but when I google that, they come up as houseplants & climbers, which this really isn’t.

Any ideas?

It looks like a lilac to me.

It does look like a lilac but are the leaves massive like they appear in the pic? Lilac leaves aren't particularly big.

The Picture This app thinks it's a Lilac also.

Ignore my last comment - just passed a lilac that had huge leaves. Mine doesn't but evidently some do!

Lilac and they flower on old wood so if you’re pruning it at all that might be why no flowers. I don’t think mine flowered for a couple of years when first planted.

Lilac, definitely.

You lot are brilliant, it certainly looks like a lilac, thank you!
