I am not a knowledgeable gardener but try my best.
When this plant started growing a good few months ago I wasn’t sure if it was a weed or something I had planted last year. I have let it grow a bit.
can anybody ID it please?

Yes, it’s a Fuchsia

Fuchsia, named after Leonhart Fuchs, physician and botanist, who published a Herbal in 1542. Hence Fuchsia (not Fuschia)
