Landscaper - Will they turn up?

So found a Gardening/Landscape company via My Builder.com. Was happy with quote so booked for 20th June today!. Text him on Thursday to ask if everything OK to start Monday. No reply so got DH to ring . He said couldn't come as he had an injury to his foot but would be starting Tuesday. So tonight I'd thought I'd check their f/book page and it has gone. We haven't paid any money. Do you think they will come?

I'm afraid my gut feeling says no show.

If he's got an injury and can't work on Monday he's not suddenly going to be better on Tuesday. The injury is probably a bluff anyway.

@Lindy2 I'm thinking that too. Im just really gutted as the garden is a right mess. Was looking forward to having it done.

This sort of thing has happened to me countless times. So many builders are just so incredibly unreliable and lie. One builder strung us along for three months (I know...) to fit a boiler. His child was ill, his family member was ill, another family member became terminally ill, then he didn't have the right certificate to fit the boiler and had to do a course, then he did the wrong course, omg the list goes on. I believed him every time until it suddenly occurred to me that he'd perhaps overbooked himself or had found a more lucrative job.

Anyway, maybe try next door or local Facebook for recommendations? Less likely to let you down.
