New ( first) garden has these Heather’s in it. In March when I moved in they were looking nice but now they seem to be going brown or the flowers are dying or something. Is this what normally happens ? My friend gave the white one a trim a month or so ago, not sure If that’s what’s caused it ?
any advice on what I should expect / be doing with them gratefully received !

They’ve just finished flowering, so give them a good trim, right down. This stimulates new growth for next years flowering and stops them going woody in the middle.
On natural heather moorlands the sheep and rabbits eat the heather right down and until recently burning the old heather was acceptable. It all flowered the next year.
