Can anyone recommend a large shrub/ small tree

I have a corner of my garden which is quite overlooked and I want to add a shrub or tree to make it more private.

My garden is quite exposed so it needs to be hardy. Preferably evergreen but not a conifer as I have too many of those already. The spot is pretty much in full sun for much of the day.

Any suggestions?

Probably a laurel - they are quite hard to prune but they grow quite fast and you could control the shape.

A nicer small tree is amelanchier but it isn't dense soles privacy and its deciduous

Viburnum plicatum mariesii. It is deciduous but fairly dense, and has fantastic flowers. Also known as the wedding cake bush because of its tendency to grow in layers.
