Does anyone know if this pretty Lewisia cotyledonn will survive in stony clay ground? I have dug in some multi-purpose compost but should it have ericaceous?
Thanks x

It is usually grown as an alpine plant, and best planted at an angle to prevent rain water settling in the rosette - they don’t like wet. I’m not sure how well it would do just planted in a border tbh.

Yes to the ericaceous.
Clay doesn't really drain well at all. It might be fine over summer but I'd lift it. It'd be much happier in free-draining ericaceous compost in a container.

Thank you for your helpful advice. I think I'll lift it now and re-plant in ericaceous.
