What's wrong with my honeysuckle?

Finally this year my honeysuckle was looking promising and filling out. But I noticed today that the leaves are starting to wither, there's a silvery sheen on them as well which the pictures might not pick up on. Does anyone know what's wrong and what I can do to save it please? Thank you.

I'm watching with interest as the leaves on mine have all dropped off after looking quite healthy a few weeks ago. I planted it last year and have not had a flower off it yet.

I have the same.

Honeysuckle is generally unkillable - really just can't get rid of the bloody stuff!! There's not much it suffers from so my guess would be powdery mildew, it doesn't tend to kill it off (as I said nothing does!) but it makes it look bad. You can look up ways to get rid of it but it might be too late for this year.

Powdery mildew, it needs more water and better airflow. I sprayed mine with diluted apple cider vinegar which seemed to work, only three tablespoons to a gallon of water though or it can burn the leaves.

Well. I never knew that. Thank you. I gave it a good hack with shears ages ago, but maybe it's too dense and not getting enough airing?

Probably, mine was getting so big it filled the passage at the side of the house so had a very big haircut!

Powdery mildew. Unlikely to kill it at all.

Powdery mildew makes sense, its in an enclosed area so not much air flow. I'll get spraying with the cider vinegar this weekend. Thanks all

Are you sure you want to save it? It's tenacious stuff.

Chop it back. It will return bigger and more robust than before.
