Gardening present ideas please

Its my brother in laws 60th birthday coming up soon. I'd like to give him a present, something for the garden, that would look good now but will continue to flourish, something like a plant in a container maybe. Any ideas of what is available at the moment? I am even up for planting, creating it myself, and I'm not blessed with the greenest of fingers!!

My sister gave my parents a truffle tree for their Christmas present, my father, a veyr keen gardener was delighted. They are moving in just over a year and small enough to put in pt until they move.
