Musa Basjoo - When & Where to buy from?

I’ve always wanted a Musa Basjoo tree (banana plant). I did see one in our local Dobbies last year, it was probably just under 2ft & I almost got it, but put it back as I was actually getting another plant & DH had limited me to one plant that day!

Anyway, iirc, it must of been no later then end of June or possibly July. I did go today but I kind of knew it was probably too early for them to have any.

My question is, if you have one, where did you get yours from? There’s lots of online places that sell them, but when it comes to plants, I think I’d rather see them before buying, unless it’s a really good trusted site.

Ive had a couple of plants from Costco (in store) in the past and in all honesty, both haven’t faired well. IME the plants that have flourished are the ones from nearby garden centres and ones like Dobbies.

I just got a couple from someone on FB marketplace for £25 each, they’re 5-6ft tall and have seen the mother plants in-situ. A good way to buy if you can find anyone selling near you.
