Nectarine tree - dead?

We planted a plate nectarine last spring. It was small but green leaves last year

We planted a cherry at the same time. Now, the cherry has leaves and blossom, as do the older fruit trees we already had. The nectarine, well just looks dead?

We are based Central Europe, have hot summers but snowy winters. The nectarine was bought locally as frost hardy etc suitable for area.

Should I leave it? Dig up and plant another?

Can you see any buds on the stems? If you scratch the stem or a branch with your nail is it green beneath? Do you know what variety the nectarine is?

I can see buds on the end but they don’t seem green.
Il go back and scrape it later to see if it’s green underneath. I think the label is still attached with variety also. Thanks
