Ground elder - which spray?

I have dug and dug and dugout there are some quite duffucult to dig areas that I'm just fighting a losing battle with. What is a tried and tested weedkiller please? Or anyother suggestions?

I've used tree stump killer painted onto the leaves under an established hedge i can't dig out. It's been pretty successful, nothing come up this year yet. That and bindweed are the only thing I use weedkiller for, but sometimes needs must!

Buy some ammonium sulphamate as a powder.
