Hi all

I made over my front garden and I have nobody irl to talk about it with as I know no gardening folk!

when we bought the house it was a mass of weeds and leggy old roses. I tore it all out and replaced it with this. From back left to front left- magnolia, wall flower, olive tree circled with lavender, pelomium and white hydrangea. From back right to front right: wall flower, alliums, cosmos and scabious. Front middle is iberis. Back middle blue hydrangeas.

im really pleased with it!

show me pics of your garden makeovers of you have them! I love this stuff.

That looks really lovely, and over the next couple of years will fill out and be great..well done OP!

That looks gorgeous. When we moved in we only had grass, patio and a shed. This was the first thing we made.

Cantdoitallperfectly · 01/05/2022 20:25

Gorgeous! It will only get better with time too.

userxx · 01/05/2022 21:07

Who does the trellis belong to ?

dogsandcoffee · 01/05/2022 21:45

@userxx not sure but either way I can’t grow something up it- the ground over there is rocky hell! Literally can’t dig.

What about a climber in a pot, seems such a shame to waste it. It's a beautiful garden, you must be really chuffed.

One of my friends has one of these and has planted grape vines over them. In summer grapes grow it is all leafy and it feels like being on holiday!
@dogsandcoffee really lovely! Have you any before pics?

growandhope · 02/05/2022 01:24

well done, you should be very proud, it looks amazing!

KloppsTeeth · 02/05/2022 02:05

That’s beautiful! Great choice of plants too. I like the lavender circles

dogsandcoffee · 02/05/2022 08:15

@Skelligsfeathers this is a before shot. Up close it was extremely weedy and messy. The other side of the path is now lavender the whole way along.

Wow! The difference!😲
You can really see the house's face now iyswim! Like it has had a great haircut!

I started this weekend, on my back garden which has some lovely planting- huge lilac tree, big cordelines, a massive rhododendron that comes out in a mass of pink flowers etc but is really overgrown and weedy. Have filled my green bin! It is starting to look so much better already. Have booked a gardner to come in and help too. They are coming Tuesday and Friday and i am looking forward to seeing what difference they make.

Chasingsquirrels · 02/05/2022 10:12

Lovely!

plinkyy · 02/05/2022 10:15

well done, what trees do you have?

dogsandcoffee · 02/05/2022 11:05

@plinkyy the middle two are olive trees and the one by the front door is a bay.

@Skelligsfeathers ooh how exciting! You should do before and after pics!

It’s lovely @dogsandcoffee , well done.

But just to warn you that your olive tree might need some winter protection for the first few years, as they can be damaged by severe frost.

LockdownGardener · 02/05/2022 19:37

Agree about a using the trellis, I have several clematis in pots and providing they are fed occasionally they do really well. Looks lovely op.

Pp, grape vines, like that idea.
