Cleaning paving slabs

I have paving slabs right up to my grass that desperately needs cleaning. I don’t have a hose so cannot use that or a pressure washer. Someone has advised I use a bleach solution and agitate it with a broom and then rinse.

my question is, how do I do this without the bleach damaging my grass.

All tips appreciated!

I read 1 part bleach 5 parts water would be ok. I did it today and every spring and brush the liquid on to the edge of my lawn. Grass has shown no damage (though I ran out of bleach so was probably more like 1:10 today).

What about patio magic ?

I just use whatever I have to hand mixed with some hot water - washing up liquid/car shampoo, even used some crap shampoo. So long as it’s hot soapy water, scrub and the dirt should come off. Never hurt my plant or grass - except maybe the odd aphid!

Use a product Path Clear.
Dilute it to the recommended ratio and ideally used a watering can with a rose fitting to sprinkle it on the slabs.

Do this when the stone is dry and it's not going to rain .
Repeat this two or three days in a row ( depending on how mossy the area is.

Thanks all. There isn’t any moss, just general dirt. Would something like path clear still be effective?

Ah if there is no moss just a bit of washing up liquid , a stiff brush and elbow grease should do it.

Lots of elbow grease, it's harder than you think!

Agree with userxx. More bleach = less elbow grease. More elbow grease = less/no bleach. Its hard work with just fairy liquid.
