Garden backs on to council park

If your plants grow over the fence I know you can't just stroll into a neighbour's garden to trim them, but is it the same if the neighbour is a park? Can I go into the park and prune my plants when they grow over the fence? Obviously I would take the bits I cut off away again.

I don’t see why not. It’s a public space and you are only trimming your own plants.

fuckedoffnow · 24/04/2022 17:43

Why do you want to trim them?

Neverreturntoathread · 24/04/2022 17:46

Look at it this way. Is anyone going to complain if you do?

Seems only logical to do (as long as you don’t scare people by waving shears around in park 👀😬)

AgentProvocateur · 24/04/2022 17:47

Of course. Why would you think you couldn’t? It’s no different to standing on the pavement and pruning your plants.

Why do you want to trim them?

To encourage them to Grier touch and not spindly.

To prevent any branches growing thick enough for children to swing on them or climb on them.

Grow thick, not Grier touch (whatever that may be).

Because it's a garden of sorts, maintained by the council. Also it's not like just stepping to the other side of your fence onto that pavement - I would have to talk to the end of my road round the corner, down another road and through the park. Feels someone different.

Somehow different! I'm not feeling someone different Grin
