I've been looking to buy an ornamental cherry tree to keep in a pot in my garden. I don't have much choice of garden centres near me, can anybody recommend somewhere online to buy from?

One of the best places is ornamental trees - not cheap, but you get very healthy plants www.ornamental-trees.co.uk/flowering-cherry-trees-prunus-trees-c34

I was going to make the same suggestion as pp. I've had 3 or 4 trees from Ornamental Trees and they have all been very heathy trees that have thrived.

Ornamental trees uk have stopped delivering to my post code, which is a shame as they were great. RHS is very good but not cheap. Paramount also good but not cheap.

The more you pay the bigger the tree and the more impact sooner.

Others where I've had good trees from are - Ponoma, Thompson and Morgan, Suttons.

Another suggestion is Mail Order Trees. Cherry trees are stunning, hope you find one you love OP!

I’ve had fruit trees from Roots Plants, they’ve been very healthy and they also sell ornamental trees.

I use mail order trees. I'm not sure how well a cherry blossom would do in a pot though, how would you replenish and repot, or are you looking at something specific?

We’ve had 2 from Ornamental Trees- an apple and an Amelanchier. Both great trees doing great, great packing and service too.

Thanks all - I now know what I'm spending my Sunday afternoon doing!

Although I haven't chosen the best season to start looking...

My last couple of crab apples came from Crocus, they have been amazing.

I've found Ashridge Nurseries good. My weeping pear tree from them is marvellous.

Just bought an eating apple, a cooking apple and a plum ( all cordons)from Pomona. Arrived quickly and are now coming into leaf.
