Acer ID and pruning question

Can anyone tell me what type of Aver this is?

Bought at Aldi about 7 years ago. I took a few lateral branches out in the winter but it is getting a bit big for the space still. I would like to know how tall and more importantly how wide it will get.

Seems like pruning of Acers means taking out the odd branch completely but the remaining branches just continue to grow out. If you cut 10 or 20 cms off each branch would it look horribly butchered?

There are literally hundreds of varieties, so it's impossible to tell from that distance. Can you post 3 close-up photos? Leaves, twigs and trunk, that will help to identify it.

Acers can be pruned, you just need to choose the right branches to remove, so it keeps a nice shape.

The common ones in the supermarkets for the last 10-15 years have been acer palmatum atropurpureum with purple leaves, acer orange dream (possibly yours with orange tinged spring leaves?) and acer dissectum with either green or purple leaves.
