Bloody squirrels!

I saw a squirrel doing squirrely things this morning near a large pot of tulips. Went out to check and the little &;"@&£ has EATEN THROUGH THE STEMS SUPPORTING THE ACTUAL TULIP FLOWERS. All of them. So bloody annoying. I had to cover the flipping things in chicken wire to keep them from digging up the bulbs but I've never had them destroy the frigging flowers.

I know it's a tiny tiny thing but I am a bit gutted. They were Sarah Raven bulbs too, so not cheap. A squirrel with expensive tastes perhaps ...

I have a squirrel who's dug up bulbs. Twat!

I feel your pain. The little bastards dug up, chewed and discarded loads of my bulbs this winter. They chewed £60 of outside Christmas lights into tiny pieces, and they’ve eaten through a £30 squirrel proof bird feeder. Next years lights won’t have a transformer in the line Angry

This year seemed to be a very good year for bergenia. I had been admiring the cluster in the middle of the garden when I saw, one day, that a bloody squirrel was eating the flowers. He was sat there chomping on them like popcorn!
He now has a lady friend and they chase each other round the garden in a skittish way. I am not looking forward to any baby squirrels.

Call in pest control? Luckily we live in the countryside so can manage them by shooting them. We do the same with rats, which love all our tulip bulbs.

We live in the sticks and have suggested this to DH but he won’t let me. He is game for mains voltage Christmas lights this year though.
