Hello, first time posting here. I’m trying to clear an allotment which has been left a mess and found this lovely plant/shrub. I think it might be the above but just wondered if anyone could confirm for me? Also, do you think I could put it in a pot, as I’d like to dig it up and take it home!
Thanks 🙏🏼

It’s botanical name is Leycesteria Formosa. You can dig it up and grow it in a pot, as long as you can get the root ball. I’d put it in a large planter.
I like the plant because it grows quickly in one season and then you can prune it right back and up it grows again. It does seed freely, so you might find some little plants.

Ah amazing thank you so much @Beebumble2 I shall try and get it out. I’ve never seen one before, but it looks lovely so looking forward to watching it (hopefully) flower!

The flowers and berries are beautiful . It’s also known as Pheasant Berry.
The plant comes from China and the Himalayas, it was grown to provide cover for pheasant game birds.

I've got one in my garden and cuttings take well too. I don't have any seedlings (from it settling seed itself) popping up even though I'd like them to!

I get lots of them! Isn’t it strange, maybe it’s just the right conditions.
