How easy is it to cut and grow geranium cuttings please? Trying to fill a large space but costs are mounting so looking to cut costs Smile

Easy I think. Last week's gardeners world had a section on how to do it.

Very easy, I took some in October and they all took and I’m going to do some more n the next few weeks.

In the gardeners world bit he did say the mother plant is actually better just using for cuttings as it looks old and woody in the second year but you can make lots of new plants from the new growth.

Geraniums or pelargoniums . Border geraniums are easy, dig up a clump, divide it into decent pieces making sure each piece has roots, replant in new position with a bit of compost to give a boost, water in. Pelargonium cuttings are a bit trickier, I am notoriously mean with mine and keep them going for a few years before discarding and buying new, I don’t propagate them at all.
