Pilea babies!

My pilea has started sending up babies, how big do you let them grow before separating? Do you put in soil or in water?

Wait till they are big enough to handle, gently separate or cut them away and grow them on in water. They should send out roots in a couple of weeks. Then you can pot them up in compost as normal
