Messy neighbouts

Hi everyone got a bit of a tricky situation. My neighbours other half is not well and while we are very sympathetic and do understand that they are not in the best of situations there garden us in a real mess. Fences are down, tree stumps everywhere. Their dog is also getting on our garden which I don’t mind (we have a dog ourself) but I’m worried it will run out on the road. I have left notes out seeing if we can have a chat but these are being ignored. We can’t afford to replace their fence and to be honest the husband next door has a high flying job so I think he could probably afford it. How do I approach this without sounding like a terrible person?!

If my OH was sick I would also ignore any notes.

Give them some time. It’s sounds unsightly rather than a safety issue.

It’s their garden; they can have it in a mess if they want. What’s the issue with tree stumps? They don’t have to replace their fence. Their dog getting out into your garden is more of an issue, though.

Can you put up a temporary fence to prevent their dog getting in? Just something that unrolls and you can hammer in?

The rest is nothing to do with you.

Mind your own business, especially when you know they're ill.

Surely if you have a dog you also have responsibility to contain it? So you need to add a bit of fencing too -like PP said, a cheap simple one is fine.

And the rest? Ignore as its nothing to do with you.
