I’d really like another one as it seems to be well suited to my garden and fairly fast growing (landscaped last year so loads of empty space still) no idea what it is though?

Can anyone tell me what this is?

Rosemary

Roystonv · 25/03/2022 17:21

Type of hebe?

StrawberryPot · 26/03/2022 03:09

Looks like Rosemary. Rub it between your finger and thumb. Does it have a very strong smell?

MereDintofPandiculation · 26/03/2022 20:15

It’s not rosemary because it has radially symmetric flowers. Rosemary is in the sage family and has asymmetric flowers consisting of an upright bit and a lip.

Definitely not rosemary but is fragrant more like a lavender! Flowers are very very small and either white or pink

Any chance of a better close up?

Diosma - something like Pink Fountain?

There's an app called Picture This. I think it's free. You just have to photograph the plant and it will identify it for you. Also does plant diseases etc.

Took a photo of your photo and it's come up as phlox diffusa - but may not be correct since it does require precision.

No it won’t. It will show the pictures that look most like yours. Useful as a starting point, but you still have to ask questions, does this have the same growth habit, eg is it a bush when my plant is a climber, does it grow in the UK, is it in flower when my plant is?
MereDintofPandiculation · 27/03/2022 10:10

Eg Phlox diffusa has a different petal shape compared to the OP’s and larger flowers compared to leaf size. So a starting point maybe, but not an authoritative id.
