Is this rose black spot?

These are old leaves from last year that I’ve just taken off my rambling rose. Is it black spot?

I only planted it last year and it rambles into an apple tree. Thanks

It certainly looks like it could be black spot, yes. If there are any other leaves still attached, or fallen at the base, get rid of them all and put them in the bin, not the compost heap.

Some roses are more susceptible than others, so it could be worthwhile spraying it this year.

Thank you! Any recommendations for what to spray with? It’s my first rose.

You can buy products from the garden centre but I find a diy milk spray really effective. Just one part cow’s milk to two parts water, spray in the morning once a week.
