Is it too early to prune my damson tree?

It is a young tree I have had for 2 years. I know April is usually recommended but the weather is forecast to be dry for at least a week here ( although cold). Any advice welcome.

In last nights Gardener's World monty was pruning an apple tree. It might be worth checking out YouTube.

Prunus are different from apples, aren’t they? It’s suggested you prune Prunus when the sap it already rising to reduce the risk of infection. Apples are pruned when they are dormant

According to google:

like all plums, damsons should only be pruned from late spring to early autumn (April to September).

Personally I'd wait until June.

Thanks guys I think I’ll wait. Nothing to be gained in going in too early.
