Good Garden Centre/Nurseries Lake District/Borders

I live somewhere fairly inaccessible for deliveries of plants and limited garden centres. But will be in the Borders and travelling up M6 from Blackpool way to get there.

What's a good garden centre that has unusual rare trees and shrubs in that neck of the woods.

There’s a large Dobbies garden centre just near Carlisle. I think it’s off either junction 44 or 45. A Google will give you the precise position.

Larch House near Penrith, Caths Garden Plants near Kendal are both independent nurseries with a good reputation

Larch Cottage Nurseries at Melkinthorpe (near Penrith)

Beetham Nurseries near Milnthorpe

They are my two favourites.

Barton Grange (Preston, M6 32) is an amazing destination!

And Larch Cottage in Penrith has unusual stuff-have only ordered from there but I'd love to make a trip some day soon.
