Plant ID - broccoli?

Can anyone help identify this?
Is it broccoli? And is it somethign like purple sprouting broccoli, which can be harvested in the spring, or is it something leftover from last year that needs to be uprooted and chucked?

I have never grown brassicas before so I am rubbish at identifying them.
Have recently taken over a veg plot, and have been trying to check what is what before uprooting everything!

Yes, a red curly leaved kale. Harvest single leaves as you need them (I mean, you can peck several leaves at a time, but just pull them off the stem, don’t cut through the main stem) When it finally decides to go to flower, you can eat the flower buds as if they were purple sprouting, but it will probably become unproductive within a few weeks of deciding to flower.
