Rose Arches

Does anyone here have a rose arch? If so, would love to see some photos as am looking for inspiration - both for the arch and the roses. Would love to see how they look when your garden is in bloom.

Also, any hints/tips/pitfalls would be good to know!

I dont I'm afraid...yet.
I have just planted 2 david Austen climbers to hopefully grow over an arch. They are ankle height now so a bit of a way to go
But hope this helps bump too

Good luck! Which climbers did you go for? And is your arch wooden or metal?

So much choice out there. I think I’ve almost decided on The Generous Gardner for my climbers, but I keep changing my mind re the arch.

I have a metal arch (after previous experiments with wood didn't go well!). The rose on one side is doing much better than the one the other side but I love having it - it gives height and structure in an otherwise rather flat garden.

I have a bit of a rickety wooden arch. So fingers crossed. I dont want to think what ill do if the Roses thrive and the arch is too wobbly and needs replacing!! Confused

Just thought I’d update this thread. I got a wooden arch in the end (from Next). It’s now painted and installed and I love it. I’ve now got to ensure that I successfully grow my roses!

Have attached a couple of photos though they’re not great. Excuse the mess, been having various bits of work done around the place.

Oooh Furries that looks fabulous.
I had a metal ogee-shaped rose arch with a pink climbing rose up one side and a white jasmine up the other. I have dismantled in and dug up the rose ahead of a (hopeful) house move. It's coming with me!

Thank you, I’m really pleased with it. Will keep my fingers crossed for both your housemove and survival of the climbing rose.

Thank you.
All the removal firms we have quotes from have said "extra day and extra van" to move my garden ( pots, furniture etc) . You can see I have my priorities right!
( And yes, the buyers do know!)
